Where is the Support for Michael Savage?
Posted by Joshua Price on March 10, 2008
I don’t want to use this space to reiterate what’s going on with Dr. Michael Savage and his radio show, but if you’re unfamiliar with what’s going on, here’s a great piece:
What’s amazing, yet unsurprising, is the lack of media attention devoted to the suit, including the so-called “conservatives” like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. This is what I want to talk about.
Where are they? Why isn’t Hannity talking about this on any of his 17 television shows or on his radio program? Why isn’t Rush saying anything about it?
Don’t give me the line about them not wanting to talk about the competition.
Savage’s suit and the attempt by CAIR to silence him for speaking the truth (i.e. accurately describing the Islamofascist enemy) threatens free speech just as much as the Fairness Doctrine would. Now Hannity and Rush had no problems discussing the Fairness Doctrine at length. They rightfully called it an infringement on free speech. Well so is what CAIR is trying to accomplish.
Do Hannity and Rush think they’re immune from this type of action in the future? I sure hope not.
Why have they not come to his defense? Do they agree with CAIR that what he said was “hate speech?” If so, then they do not truly understand the enemy we face.
I think this is precisely what’s going on. You see, they don’t want to go too far in calling out the enemy because they afraid to get themselves in this type of situation. That’s the problem. They don’t want to rock the boat too much.
At the end of the day, this is not about Michael Savage. It’s about yours and my right to free speech.
